I guess this post is mostly for Elizabeth, but who knows, maybe someone else will be inspired...
I saw the Counting Crows concert last night in LA, they just kick ass. They're so full of energy and the live music sounds just like the albums or better. Even though the latest album kinda sucks, they only played the good songs from it mixed in with a bunch of old songs.
Good stuff.
So the moral of the story is, if they come to your town, you might want to check them out.

Oh yeah, the show I saw was with Toad the Wet Sprocket, so that was really cool too.

I've heard from many many people that the Counting Crows are great in concert, I may have to check them out if they ever come down here in the south. I went and saw three shows this past summer. The pop disaster tour (Jimmy Eat World, Blink 182, Green Day)... The Goo Goo Dolls with Third Eye Blind and Vanessa Carlton... and lastly Jimmy Eat World with Cave In and Sparta. All three shows were great but the third eye blind was the best cuz I got to hear their new stuff....... simply amazing.
nothing beats a rock show.

Hey Chris-- I did catch them in Tampa in 2000 and I actually cried at a song or two. I'm a huge fan and they are very moving and powerful live. I did not think the new album sucked... it just seems they revamp their whole style each time they come out, and now they seem kinda 80s pop to me! It's wild. It'll take some getting used to. I think my all-time favorite was Satellites.
But anyway, I'm pissed, because the closest they came to me was Atlanta, and they were there on Halloween, so I missed it. I was kinda sad about it. =( But we SHALL meet again!!!!
