Ahh yes the B&M Flyer! I can't wait to ride one of these. Actually, the announcement for this ride has been around since last year. It will be a great addition to a great park already. SF Great Adventure is very well-run, especially for a Six Flags park.
I just did SF Great America last summer so it will be a while before this park gets back into my rotation. I have ridden two versions of the flying coaster both by a company called Vakoma (both of them sucked!) The B&M version that Great America is building for this season is supposed to be MUCH better. B&M is just a much better coaster company than Vakoma. If you've been there lately, B&M is the same coaster company that made Raging Bull (a great ride, on my top ten steel coaster list).
The laziness of the Six Flags organization is that they will clone this flyer and put it in another one or two of their parks, most likely. So if I don't get to the one in Gurnee, I will hit one of the other parks they slap it in.
Good lookin' out Chief man!

We coaster enthusiasts (geeks) always divide our favorites into Wood and Steel coasters. My favorite wooden coaster is definitely the Beast at Kings Island, near Cincinnati, OH. It is unlike any other wood coaster I've been on. And my favorite steel coaster, and probably favorite overall is the 310 ft, 93 MPH Millennium Force at Cedar Point, in Sandusky, OH. Just looking up that big of a first hill is enough to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
Ask me this question in two weeks. Next week, Cedar Point is opening up their new ride Top Thrill Dragster. Zero to 120 in 4 seconds, 420 ft hill 90 degrees straight up and down. It will be the tallest and fastest ride anywhere. It might become my new number one, who knows. http://www.cedarpoint.com

I hate the steep drops. They really freak me out.

Elizabeth, that's the best part! Nothing like having your guts fall faster than the rest of your body. But what's cool though is the feeling of floating out of your seat--the phenomenon called "air time" by the enthusiasts. Many of the coasters are ranked higher because of the amount of air time.
