Hey Elle,
I didn't know you were coming to Pittsburgh. Are those fish and jellyfish shots from the Carnegie Science Center? If you had gone to Mt. Washington (up on the hill), you would have had an incredible shot! Was shot #DSC01650 a shot of you?

I'm looking forward to my first trip to Pittsburgh either this weekend or next!
A friend just got stationed there for Recruiting & going to see an old friends new apt, should be fun at least :) I'm hoping I can get out of the 5hr drive though

If you come Lisa, make sure you "tour" the strip district at night. That's where all the clubbing will be goin' on. Some daytime options: Kennywood Amusement Park, Carnegie Museum, the Pittsburgh Zoo, and the Carnegie Science Center. Most of the cultural things are spread around the city. Good luck.

haha
Every since they changed the zoo to replace the cages with "natural settings", the animals have been a lot happier, but a lot harder for people to actually see, especially my favorite, the tigers. I guess making the animals more comfortable is the top priority though.

Louis,
Thanks! I know, both of the guys I'm coming to see don't know their way around. One has lived in PA all his life & doesn't know many areas outside of his hometown. The other is from my area so he knows nowhere but his station.
My friends loves to dance as I do, so that sounds like a LOT of fun!! Ahh if we manage to get a car the Amusement Park & Museums sound cool. Lol, if we can find our way from the apartment & back. I am looking forward to touring around it in general if we can!
:)

Lisa,
Once you hit the city, anyone can tell you how to get to the Strip district, it is on the western part of the city off the Allegheny River (downtown is enclosed by the two rivers). The Carnegie Science Center is next to the football stadium (Heinz field). Everyone knows where the stadium is (on the North Side of downtown off the Allegheny/Ohio River).
The Carnegie Museum is near my school, the University of Pittsburgh. That is east of the city in a neighborhood called Oakland. Probably a little harder to get to if you don't know your way around. Kennywood park is further outside the city down the Monongahela River. You may have to Mapquest or Expedia to these last two places.
I wish I could meet and show you all around, but I will be out of town the next two weekends, sorry. Good luck.
Louis
