PM Dawns GREATEST HITS

I recently posted another thread in which I asked for CD recommendations. Well, I am still looking. A while back, I was in my local record store browsing, I found a couple of "Greatest Hits" CDs by a couple of my favorite old soul artists from the 60s. After reading the track lists, it left me wondering WHO IN THE WORLD chooses the songs that end up on these so-called "greatest hits" CDs....Most of the time, I recognize one or two of the songs, and have never heard of the rest.

That leads me to this question that I thought I would ask just for fun. It will be neat to see your responses.

i figure you get a fairly chrono recap of the career with bsides remixes and rarities thrown in...they could make it like those very best of ozzy and springsteen comps you see in kmart....unfortunate and sad that this one doesnt exist yet....ah well.....the 2000 best of will do i guess B)
