So yesterday as I sat at work...on a Saturday (Office Space, anyone?) I decided that I'd like to listen to some good music for a change. I'm tired of driving in my car with the radio on scan constantly because there's never anything good on. With that in mind, I thought I'd go to Amazon and check out other recommended artists for my favorite groups/singers. About four hours later, I had spent $140 and had ordered sixteen CDs and a DVD. It's reasons like this why I work two jobs, otherwise I'd be flat broke constantly.

A lot of this stuff was music I'd already heard, but some of it was just impulse buying based on online reviews and sound clips. I didn't realize it until after I looked back over the list, but apparently I'm really into female singers. I bought stuff by Alanis, Annie Lennox, Beth Hart, Dido, Fisher, and Heather Nova. Oh, and Jason Mraz because he's a Virginia native like myself and one of my friends said I'd like him. So in a few days I hope I don't have a box full of crap music delivered to my doorstep.

Don't know why, but just thought I'd share.

Amazon sucks me in as well. Im trying to convert all my old cassette tapes from the 80's over to cds which I prety much bought all throughout the 90's up to date.

It's pretty embarassing when you spend your days searching for the Tyketto cd. (Much love if anyone even knows who they are)

And tomorrow....forget it. I have 5 cd's marked off. Im an 80's boy...so Tesla, annd the Brides of Destruction along with Push Starts Wildhearts and Josh Todd..and then the new Usher in a couple weeks...

Id be so rich if it wasnt for music

Yeah. I was a big Crue head. Still am actually.

I like to make mix cds for my friends...turn them onto new music...

There's nothing better than having a cd that goes

Enigma-Return to innocence
Motley Crue-Wildside
PM Dawn- About Nothing...
EMF- They're Here
Nine Inch Nails-Closer

There's nothing like going from one extreme to another...keeps em entertained...

I am a big nut about continuity with my mixes. In fact i've been applauded by my fiance for expanding my mixes to allow both old 60's artist and modern artists. Yes for my own personal mixes i tend to be rather anal.

Now if i am playing music for folks i'll rally and jab some different stuff together.

Worse music for a party,,,,Van Dyke Parks-SOng Cycle. Personally love the album guaranteed to have people look at you like What the F?

Originally I'm from the extreme southwestern part of the state, right near the TN/KY border. Then I went to college at Virginia Tech and lived in the Blacksburg/Radford area for four years. And now I live in Charlottesville. What about you?

Oh thats cool. I've been all over those areas, well...lol still am all the time.

Ever heard of Copper Sails?? They started at Va Tech & play there @ Top of the Stairs & in charlottesville all the time. Good Friends/fam of mine. last show in charlottesville was with the Little River Band. Nice guys....

I'm actually more North of you. I'm in fredericksburg, nestled between Richmond & DC. I travel a lot to Richmond, Staunton, and areas like that...normally not much further near the border though.

That's awesome! I saw Copper Sails open for Blues Traveler in Richmond last year. I didn't see them at all while I was in college but I had friends who were friends with some of the band members. I was extremely, extremely impressed with them when I saw them. I thought they were very polished musicians and had a great time listening to them.

Cool, yeah the guys have come a long way, the band really reformed when they came home and got the new keyboardest (my fam) and the drummer.

Lol, thats the one show I missed them playing but came right after to hang out with them. Blues Traveler was really nice.

Yeah Jon & Boomer have a ton of friends @ Tech, they always have huge shows while they were there. Last show they did at top of the stairs they did with a band here from F'brg, it was a lot of fun.
