No, I agree that the European is by far the worst oppressor on the planet. They are the parasites of the earth. But, for American blacks, who are true descendents of the original Israelites, the Arabs did even more damage to US than the Europeans.

First of all, you need to educate yourself on exactly what being Jewish is.

Judaism is a religion. Jewish is a tribe, 1 of 12. Hebrew is a people. I never said that these people were Jews, I siad that they were HEBREWS.

No, the slavery that was common to that part of Africa was a tribal battle thing. When 1 tribe fought another in battle those that were captured would become slaves to the tribe. Eventually they would be absorbed into that tribe and become one of them. The racially grounded chattel form of slavery was introduced by Arabs, who basicly invented it and STILL practice it to this day. They were the FIRST to regard people as inferior and to treat them as beasts of burden simply because of their skin color. They are STILL doing it right now!

Jesus, it's hard to read that color you insist on using. :)

I think that most of what I said to you was in the form of questions, i don't see where I attacked you in any way and the only assumptions that I have made have been based on things that you said. At any rate, please don't take anything that I say too harshly. I think by now you KNOW how much respect that I have for you, I am just EXTREMELY passionate about history, and am most passionate about OUR history...which I began studying LONG before you were born. ;)

Also, please try to understand this. A Jew is historicly a person from the tribe of Judah, and then later a person from the nation of Judea. The reason all that we know now is the term Jew is because the original 12 tribes of the Hebrews had split into 2 nations, with 10 of the tribes living in Israel and the tribes of Judah and Benjamin living in Judea. The Assyrians conquered Israel and exiled it's people, who never returned. Judaism is a religion, the surviving sect from the original religions of the Hebrews, who had MANY.

ALL people originate from Africa, but NOT all civilizations. The oldest civilizations originated in the fertile crescent, an area that came to be called Mesopotamia. Though European history now claims this as part of Asia, it is in fact historicly culturally and socially a part of Africa. The original Hebrews came from this area and migrated westward, eventually settling in the land of the Canaanites. They also eventually migrated southward across the Arabian pennisula and southwestward into Egypt and Ethiopia.

Now, what I AM saying is that the Hebrew people were chief progenitors of much of Africa's civilization, long before Arabs or Muslims. I am also saying that MANY of the Africans that were hunted and forced into chattel slavery had Hebrew origins. This is based in fact that can easily be researched.

BTW...are you familiar with the Hebraic connections to Tamazigh culture? ;)

First off, most people (but not all) now adays are incorrectly branded as racist when the term is used. Now this is a white person's point of view, so take it however you want. I have absolutely no problem with anyone. I'm all for each person learning about where they came from and why they are here. This is what Rumi is railing against, and as a lover of history from the time that I was 1st able to read it is a rail that I understand and share as well. Many white people in this country have developed a defense mechanism, whereas to show that THEY are not guilty of the offenses comitted by whites of the past, they also try to show that now THEY are being victimized. It's sort of like the 1 good cop getting pissed at a police brutallity victim for having a bad attitude towards cops, after the 5 bad cops beat his ass down.

My main thing with Rumi is to get her to understand that ALL cultures and histories have value, even those of the oppressors. Otherwise you are only getting the parts instead of the whole...and the parts can be manipulated to LIE. This is EXACTLY what America and the West have done. To try and balance this lie by only studying those histories and cultures which are selected for you by others with an agenda only adds their lies to the first.

History and culture belong to the people of the earth...ALL of the people. As we ALL come from Africa we are ALL part of ONE FAMILY. To hear only about this brother or that sister or these cousins is to neglect the full story of the family, and in truth, to remain in darkness. Samedeep, if you read the content in which Rumi said "fuck white people" you will see that it was an exclamation of her preferrence to devote her mind to her own people instead of "all" people, not 1 of hatred or racism. While I disagree with her expression I understand and have shared the sentiment. That sentiment is fed by white people who portray a "victimized" mentallity, as if every black person who chooses to devote themselves to the struggle of black people is therefore afronting white people.

Allow me to elucidate. You said that you're 29, not 329, which seems to insinuate that you believe that the problems of black people existed far in the past. This is a common thing that we hear from white people today, the "I didn't have anything to do with it" rant. Well, nobody said that you did, but the racist problems that blacks have to deal with exist to this day. What is more, maybe YOU are tired of hearing about the "400 + years of slavery", or the 100 + years of serfdom that followed it, or the laws that are designed to keep blacks down, or the instituted discrimination against blacks that exists in most walks of American life, or the many many other problems that black people have to face in this country on a daily basis...but for YOU to say that it blows your top, that in society, black folks are "allowed" to say something about it, I'm sorry, but that DOES display a victim mentallity.

If you were into history, you would realize that if what had been and continues to be done to black people in this country had been done to just about ANY others, the result would be FAR different. You complain about blacks expressing their sorrow, their anger, their frustration? With any other people that would all have been expressed in BULLETS long ago! Yet, the attitude that you express and condone here is akin to saying "sure you were slaves for 400 years, and then serfs for another 100, sure you need an extension of an act of congress to be guaranteed the right to vote, sure you make up 50% of the incarcerated population, sure you are still kept out of the best jobs and opportunities, sure you are still looked down upon by a large part of the American establishment...TOUGH! GET OVER IT!!! After being exposed on a wide basis to that sort of attitude is it any wonder that a knowledgable and prideful blck person would say "fukk white people"?


Rumi, all I can say to you is to widen your scope. If you think that Africa loves you I suggest that you think again. Africa sent you here for a reason AND THEY DON'T WANT YOU BACK! Your and my ancestors built THIS country, and I for 1 plan to stake my claim for it. If you would prefer to be African, I suggest that you find someplace there where they are not killin each other and emigrate. Good luck on that 1 by the way! :bowlaugh:

People here are deep because there are actual issues in the world that affect people's lives and need to be dealt with, and we happen to be fortunate enough to be among a group of people who care deeply about these issues.

I just think that you are being offended by someone's being offended. She doesn't think that you or all or even most white Americans are racist, but she does believe, as do I, that many whites take on a victimized mentallity when they witness black people who are pro-active about their blackness. After all, she never called YOU a racist, you called HER 1. ;)

Again Coz hits ther nail. :rock: I was talking about society but Samedeep kept it up like I was making a personal attack on him,I did say in the beginning that I did not know him to judge. I was just trying to make views known. Now About Africa. Believe you me I know that Africa is no Paradise. I know too that when Africans,I means the second wave that we see now in Harlem and Brooklyn first came here,they did not even want to be associated with African Americans and even had stereotypes about us. For instance my boyfriend is from Mali,when he came here,even still 17years later people are still asking him how dangerous are black people? Do we carry guns? Are we murders? etc. We as a black race need to come together. But I hear what you are saying about African Americans too. :)
