Eminem is Dope... His lyrics and the way he rhymes them is unique as hell I think. I am surprised to see that more people in here don't like him.
Chuck I hope I am still your favorite white boy in the ATX

Eminem is definantly not a bad artist in terms of talent.. in fact, his lyrical structure is one of the best.. currently. His lyrical spin offs are a bit non inspring latley.. but hopefully if theres a next album it will be as classic and hardcore as his second album.

It's true. I know I'm supposed to have Marsh's back cuz he was kinda one of my crew back in the day, but this shit is tired. Like most of the artists who came from the Detroit area scene, he was a lot tighter back when he was still local.
Exhibit A: "Murder Murder", original version from the Slim Shady EP
<and not that horrid remix from the "Next Friday" soundtrack>
Exhibit B: "Any Man", from the "Soundbombing" compilation
The last GREAT song Marsh ever did was "Stan", which of course was ruined when it was released as a single. Great video, horrid edits, "heavy rotation" ... completely played out.
Still waiting tho. About a third of "Encore" is decent. most of it is unlistenable. I do like "Toy Soldiers", but that's probably more because I knew a lot of the people he mentions in it.

Indeed, but was it worth the cost? The guy now has people after him, he's in fear of his life whenever he leaves the house, and he's been barred from practically every hip hop club and recording studio in the area, because everyone's on paul rosenberg's dick.

Eminem's fourth album, Encore, sold a whopping 711,000 copies in a mere three days to top the charts. While most records are released on a Tuesday and ring up six days' worth of sales, Encore was rushed out last Friday after being leaked online. (The rapper's previous album, The Eminem Show, was similarly released on a Sunday and sold 285,000 copies in just one day of registered sales in 2002.)
pretty nice..

yeah, but he dont have to in his music.
Morally i find it strange.. he cracks on raping women, religion, ethnics slurs, raping women, killin his mom, killing his wife, calling all women sluts, and telling people they can burn in hell with a can of gas.. and a match.. gloating about making millions off of black music.
and they want an apology about some fucking demo tape he did when he was a teenager?
It was an attempt to discredit him, but to me it only made things better popularity wise.. look at MORE CONTROVERY he stirred up.. amazing, isnt that what his entire career is based on?

man .. definately not exclusive 2 white boys..
there were plenty of guys like that in my class, but one of the funniest was my friend mali , he came from papua new guinea to australia for the last couple of years of school, the part he came from was quite backwards as far as tech and politics etc.. if i pointed a laser pointer onto the wall he was sitting next 2 he would try to scratch it off cause he couldnt figure what was goin on .. i think the phrase i remember best of his would be " one day, i wish i could have a pet mouse as big as your head " ... hmmm
my other filipino mate was the absolute class freak, virtually everyone prided themselves on laughing at him, he would do the glue thing, cut chunks out of his hair or eyebrows , sneak food, universal remotes , games , porn etc into class...he would periodically do something f***ed up 2 a random persons school bag, tape it to the ceiling with 3 reels of electrical tape, put tubes of paint inside with the lid off and jump repeatedly, exchange the contents of 2 peoples bags after turning them inside out... the list was endless..
freaks and nerds exist in all race and cultures

I have to say that like any artist you have to love them or hate them, or fall somewhere in between. I used to enjoy rap back in the day of RunDMC and earlly LL, Dana Dane, Slick Rick. Back when rap was more story telling than what it is today, just a bunch of bling blingidy, bitches hoes..blah blah..can't understand a word you say. On occassion I find a few artists here and there that I don't mind listening to. I still enjoy LL and the occassional Busta or Jay-Z because they still have that story element to some of their stuff. It is for that reason that I like Eminem. I can 1. understand most of what he says 2. its usually funny 3. the beats are ok (i don't dance do fk it) 4. there is a story in some of it (fact of fiction who cares) I've always been an off the beaten path kinda guy, especially when it comes to music ( I am a PM Dawn fan after all) so I think he is very unique and although his stuff gets over played, so do alot of peoples. I don't listen to the radio just because of that. Like any artist there are songs I like and songs I don't, it's just how it goes. Hell I like Brian McKnight and BoyzIIMen but I don't like ALL their songs.

Check out some underground stuff...that's where the real talent is hiding these days.
Moka Only
Dwele
People Under the Stairs
...are some of my favorites.
He was good at first but now he is in a position where he will never have to even try. I doubt he will ever use more than about 50% of his potential ever again because he doesn't have to.
The new single was pathetic, I truly believed it was a fake when I first heard it, it's just the same shit again but minus the freshness, minus the effort and minus the quality and with every album thoses issues are escalating.
If he wasn't a lazy bastard things might be ok but he doesn't seem to care about being good any longer because he knows he doesn't have to be.
Some people believe in quality control regardless of how famous they are but eminem isn't on of those people.
