I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but Michel Gondry is my favourite music video director, and I'm really glad he's been able to break into the movie scene as well.

I highly recommend buying "The Work Of Director Michel Gondry" on DVD. Absolutly fantastic stuff. It also has the full Jim Carrey "bed car" short film mentioned in the special features of the Eternal Sunshine DVD.

Excellent pick! The vibe from all is magical in this one. Focus Features comes up with some fabulous flicks. (Well, except for "The Swimming Pool," what's up with that ending?) Buying the dvd is a must 'cause the features are the cherry on top. Polyphonic Spree's video of "light and day" is fun. Kaufman pitched this back in '88 as he states in the commentary and what a fresh concept. Everyone involved is brilliant. All facets rival the quality of foreign films instead of the usual insipid fare cranked out sometimes. Lacuna infomercial is a hoot. :p

Do we need to go to the theatres anymore? :D

It's funny how intricate the "biz" is once you break it down, eh. Wow.

It really was a trippy movie, no better word for it. I don't mind that kind of "trippy" but it had this gritty, darker undertone to it visuall. With that matched to the desperation or darker sentiments it left me feeling a little uneasy. I wanted a thrill ride that it was but with more of the frozen lakes and comfortable beds on sandy beaches.
By the way, HI Everyone!
