He has been one of my heroes since when I first knew what a hero was. Heaven is better off, and we are now sorely lacking.:(:(:(

Oh, I knew who he was just not his name. I was just reading up on him and he was a great man, he will be missed.
I am also going to see some movies that he was in, suggested here(with check marks under entire filmography). http://www.allmovie.com/cg/avg.dll?p=avg&sql=2:86915~C

Here, here Coz; Davis was one of a kind in many ways. You got that straight; heaven has brought him home. Peace to his family.
Gracing us all as a true humanitarian and artist, his numerous achievements epitomized an ethical code and integrity. All of us can learn from his example. BIO (http://www.kennedy-center.org/calendar/index.cfm?fuseaction=showIndividual&entitY_id=12124&source_type=A)
In honor of what he gave to the world:
IMDb faq on Ossie Davis (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001115/)
Writer, actor, director, activist and more, Mr. Davis was currently working on two projects mentioned there. As you can see from the faq sheet, his contributions were immense. Documentaries like the Real Malcolm X shine a light on the not-so-distant history that none of us should forget. What he gave to his work is profound.
bio of Davis and his wife Ruby Dee (http://newsinfo.iu.edu/news/page/normal/200.html) &
listen to an interview with Ossie and Ruby, married for over half a century, here (http://homepages.indiana.edu/020102/text/conversations.html)
In addition, Mr. Davis and his wife were instrumental in New York Theatre expansion and starred in Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun. *this is a must see play.
We care Coz and feel the loss too.
It saddens me to not hear more in the news about one of our countries most prolific role models. :(
I guess it's up to us to help the kids remember and appreciate what men and women like Ossie Davis have done for our country and consciousness.
In his life, Mr. Ossie Davis set the bar for living life to its fullest. A true Icon and revolutionary loving spirit.
