pmFan got me motivated. Over the next week or so, I'll be adding my entire pmdawn collection to a searchable, sortable, etc online database.

Then you guys can send me whatever additions you have or know about.
I already built the db and started the forms for adding stuff to it.

...more to come.

YEA! What info do you want?
Media (12" vinyl, 7" vinyl, cassette, CD),
Title,
tracks,
times,
GeeStreet/Island/V2 catalog number (like GECDX 65/854 565-2 and 314-524 147-2)?

:D :D :D :D :D

Here's what I've got so far --

For each "item":
- Artist Name
- Title
- Year of Release
- Product Number
- Origin (U.S., U.K., AUS, etc)
- Format (12", 7", CD, 3inCD, etc)
- Type (Album, Single, Soundtrack, Other)
- Image_link (to the cover art, stored on pmdawn.net)

For each related "track":
- Track no (1, 2, etc - vinyl could be A1, B2, etc)
- Track Title
- Performed Flag (checked if Pm Dawn performs this track)
- Wrote Flag (check if Pm Dawn wrote this track)
- Produced Flag (checked if Pm Dawn produced this track)
- Remix Flag (checked if this is a remix of an original Pm Dawn track)
- Lyrics Link
- Tabs Link
- Clip Link

If we deem track times necessary, I can add that easily.

Wow! That's impressive! I look forward to looking through your collection and seeing what I don't have!

CD3? Were there many things released on CD3?

As far as I've seen, the only 3" cd with any pm dawn material was a single of the X-files them w/pm dawn remix. Thats it.

there is hope!!Ha ha ha - feeling a little anti-MS? Hey, do you guys have any good references for PHP? What about MySQL? Any good references for a DBA?

I use php and mySQL for a website that I run. I just learned it about two months ago (or at least enough of it to get things going). They're both cool. Kinda different from the .NET and Oracle that I use at work, simpler in a lot of ways.

Brian does good work. I can hardly wait to see this thing to see which cuts I'm missing. :)

Why write anything these days...it already exists!!!
There's this nice little open source app called Mambo with an add-on called ArtistAvenue. It'll do just fine for now.

I just started -- but here's preview.

Yeah, I'm using Mambo too! I didn't realize it was that popular. I think I only chose it because the initial layout was orange (my favorite color). I never heard of the ArtistAvenue add-on. What does it do?

I don't know if this helps ease the data entry, but I have an excel spreadsheet with info on about 30 CDs of/by/or having to do with PM Dawn. Let me know if you want tme to email it to you - I put it in one fat spreadsheet with all of the fields you mentioned above. (I left the picture and links fields blank). If you need pics, I can start scanning little by little over the next few weeks.

Sure -- email me the spreadsheet and I can compare -- I also just finished putting all my cds out on the database -- I have to work on the vinyl sometime this week.

Brian, this is awesome!

Tell me, how does the Ode to a Forgetful Mind Original Mix (Watcher's Point of View (underground) 12") compare to the More Than Words Mix (UK LP with extra tracks)?

What does the Supercallla... mix sound like?

What about the Watcher's underground?

Database is nearly complete. I just added clips from about 90 tracks of remixes/productions/etc tracks - 35 seconds long a piece.

Now all at www.pmdawn.net
