PM Dawn: Night in the City

Hey, I got a copy of Night in the City (12" vinyl - now I have to break out the old turntable!). The label says "Original version from the forthcoming Reprise album A CASE OF JONI (2-47558)". I searched on line for about 20 minutes and could only come up with the idea that there was an LP in the works that included PM Dawn and Janet Jackson, but I can't find anything else - like a track listing of the actual release. Did the Joni tribute fizzel and was never actually released? Anyone got any info on the history of this 2000 promo?

I saw that song listed on an American Eagle (i think) disk compilation.. and said.. "look a there"... didnt get it..


now I have never been able to find that song in perfect cd quality.. every copy i've ever seen you could tell it was ripped from a record.. even the decent one's...

Yup - the 12" single record and the American Eagle cd is the only known existence of that song.

How did they sound like they were ripped from the vinyl? The vinyl I got is *pristine*!!! Not a scratch, not a scuff - heck, it looks like it was never played! The cover, on the other hand, looks like it was taken in and out of its place on a shelf... I still gotta break out the turn table - may be a few weeks before I actually get to listen to the tracks...

im a quality freak and hearing the vinyl version ripped to mp3 made me sick... the high fo's were distorted and even when it was ripped flat, it didnt do the song justice..


perfect quality is what i want with that one.. no less... ya know
