As for the rematch, I haven't had much time for anything lately, but it sounds like fun. I think we should create a new forum first, for politics and history and such, that doesn't have such stringent rules about staying on topic and cracking jokes.

All of the other forums I frequent use their On Topic forums for extremely serious or personal issues where jokes or hijacking aren't appreciated, and the Politics and Religion sections for the thick-skinned who want to thrash it out but are capable of retaining their sense of humor and perspective. After all, if you can't laugh about that shit you shouldn't even bother with it.

I want to be able to point out how stupid you and your opinions are, without you taking it so seriously that you forget how much I like, admire and respect you.:p :D :)

And we HAVE to have more smilies first as well!;)

I was a *real* missionary for two years (I think you knew that) and therefore was involved heavily with religion. Now you've met me and my family, we're normal people (as normal as the next normal person anyways). And while on my mission, I was normal as well. But we *DID* run into people like tinker. I guess they figured that since they were people of God, we must be like them too and want to pontificate and spew forth rhetoric. That is *so* not the case. I am of the belief that no one will believe what you say unless you are honest. If you don't behave and act honestly, and in turn as an upright and respectable person respecting all those around you as well, you are preaching a lie. I wanted people to be interested in what I had to say because they thought I was a good person, not because I slammed sayings down their throat (which I never did, btw.)

In most of the religious conversations we have had here, unless I felt *REALLY* strongly on an issue, I simply avoided.

Now that being said, it was *NOT* easy being tinker. It's really hard to think like a crazed mad-man. Tinker, I honestly think, did believe in what he was trying to say. But that's not the way to impress people and I don't think that those people are being themselves either. It's the perception that they think others want a zealot to be. The thing of it is though, is that that attitude, let's call it the "I am holier than thou" attitude, really riles people up. Maybe tinker does it for the thrill of annoying people, I don't know.

And Tim, you know it was all meant in fun. Hey, it gave your board a thing to talk about for a few days, the crazy spunky man. (For the record, Mistress chose that name not me. I probably would have *really* made it be called tinker to confuse you all even more). If any feelings were hurt, our appologies.

It was funny though, you have to admit that. I was dropping PM Dawn references right and left, but from what I was shown, you only got the last few (I did tend to get a bit more obvious about them over time, though). And all y'all still thought it was just plain old tinker.
