Considering that Seal's lyrics rarely make a whole lot of sense to me anyway, I don't really notice much difference the two versions. However, it did explain something; I have a CD of George Michael at some benefit (Five Live, I think) where he performed some kind of amalgam of Killer and Papa Was a Rolling Stone. Before I knew about Adamski's Killer, I wondered why George Michael changed the words.
I found a hi-quality version of the Adamski video a couple of years ago. I'm sure that I have it around here somewhere. Would you like to have it?

Seeing as how I'm a huge fan of Seal, combined with the fact that I don't even like it when Alanis does her own songs-- I know I would really hate to hear her cover the one song that instantly got me hooked on Seal's music way back in my college days.

Speaking of crazy, did anyone hear Nelly Furtado's cover of Gnarls Barkley's Crazy?

I like some of Nelly Furtado's songs, but the Crazy cover was just plain horrible. I haven't heard a song so thoroughly drained of its vitality since Pat Boone covered Tutti Frutti.

generally speaking I hate all remakes of songs, but there are some exceptions. Alanis's was not an exception. Crazy is awesome so I am forcefully abstaining from Nelly Furtado's version (she is someone I like a lot - but she looks trashy in that last video and I don't like the song and I know she probably f'ed up crazy...).

About adamski's version, I am not sure, but I doubt if I would like it.

obv... but there is a caveat... What is a remix? To me its when you know of a song and someone else performs it in a different way. Well if PM Dawn samples songs and does remixes or previously made songs and I have never heard the song before then to me it isn't a remix, its a new creation (with no baggage associated with it - which is one of the reasons remixes don't usually sit well with me).

It's crazy how many PM Dawn fans are seal fans...

It's like the IQ test question...

And half the PM Dawn fans are manic depressants
Then how many Seal fans are "manic depressant"(A seal song - a remix in fact - one that I like, lol)

Killer was a collaborative effort between Adamski (who was a hot British producer at the time) and Seal (who was not very well-known yet). Adamski released Killer and it became a hit, possibly giving Seal the boost that made him a star in his own right. When Seal got the opportunity to do his own album, he tweaked Killer a tiny bit and re-released it on Seal.

ah, this explains it, I was under the assumption that Trevor Horn was his producer throughout(even though the broke up for awhile recently). I wasn't a seal fan until his second album, heck I was only 10 when the first one came out. Thanks for clarifying.
