so this is the product of a sleepless night and much boredom...
but i sorta thought it would be a neat idea to design and album cover/concept for P.M. Dawn's new album.
here is the result (cover and gatefold):
http://www.pmdawnonline.com/album/main.php?g2_itemId=257&g2_page=3
this image has a history connected to P.M. Dawn. i took the picture in NYC Central Park February 22, 2005. this is the same day I saw/met P.M. Dawn (and Coz) for the first time (at the Canal Room).
i've won a couple of awards for the full image that i originally took, so its been copyrighted. so you can't reproduce it without my permission and such.
i like how the cover is sorta abstract tree branches, but the full gatefold becomes a manhattan cityscape. in the context of P.M. Dawn, the sun could be seen as a symbol for God (i tried to stay true to the religious imagery). and i'd also include some portraits of the boys in the liner notes and such, but they'd have to let me take them first! the layout is similar to the layout of The Joshua Tree, and is a pretty common album layout.
what do you think? and i'd love to see what other people could come up with as far as designing their own "P.M. Dawn Loves You" album cover!!!
