Apparently in the US it was "Love Hangover" by Diana Ross, and in the UK it was "Combine Harvester" by the Wurtzels.

Never heard either of them... but at least I know who Diana Ross is.

Heheh... many of you probably have never owned a turntable. Just think, I grew up in the days when most radios only had AM, an "unbreakable" record would smash into pieces if you dropped it, and most "hi-fi" record players were mono. Y'all have no idea how good you have it. :D

I liked 8-tracks! The sound was pretty good (at least, I thought so at the time), and they were hard for my friends to destroy.
The thing I loved about vinyl singles were B-sides!
They hardly ever do B-sides anymore; just remixes.

I remember playing the shit out of The Police, Van Halen's "1984", Bread, Neil Diamond, etc., etc. on my turntables. I could locate any section of any Police song by site and could drop the needle on it with 98% accuracy.

Remember those big ass wooden box stereos that were (I guess) meant to look like a piece of furniture?

8-Tracks didn't come along until I was almost a teenager. Before that the only choice you had for albums was vinyl or reel-to-reel. :D

Consoles. Everybody had one.:)Naw, my dad had components. He was stylin'.
Solid state receiver (complete with <gasp> dual cassette tape recorder), turntable, equalizer, reel-to-reel. He still has the receiver; that baby is still breathing, and it sounds great, too!

Solid state receiver with a dual cassette recorder? That's the '80s son, not the '60s!:haha:

Ahh, not so, my friend. This is his setup from 1974, before my parents split up.
He was quite well-to-do, and wanted a state-of-the-art sound system.

Solid state sure, but I don't remember ever seeing a dual cassette recorder until the '80s. Regardless, it still ain't the '60s, which is when I was talking about. Yes you had component sets then, but they were extremely rare and expensive. My cousin in Panama had the first one I had ever seen, complete with reel to reel. He worked for the CIA.:haha:
