Sweet! I've been waiting for the new album for a while... I already ordered my Weird Al Show DVD set, and I'm still waiting for that to arrive... hopefully it gets here soon so I have something to tide me over until "Straight Outta Lynwood" comes out.

As for "Hardware Store", to my knowledge it is not based on anything. Al was having fun playing around with some audio software and decided to write a song that he couldn't possibly sing, much to the frustration of certain fans. ;)

If it is a style parody of something, I'd like to know... at one point I maintained the definitive list of Weird Al Style Parodies, though I haven't updated it since Running With Scissors.
