my Mom Called Me This Morning, I Was In Maui, About To Get Redy To Leave For Home, When She Told Me Her Mom, My Maternal Grandma, And The Last Living Grandparent I Had, Passed Away At Manhattan Presbityrian This Morning At 8 30am.
i Feel Ok But I've Cried Most Of The Morning And Now While I'm Typing This.
my Grandma Taught Me To Be Courageous And Funny,
and I Can Never Repay Her For That. I Had A Stack Of Newspapers With Be And My Face In It, And I Was Already To Go See Her When I Got Off The Damn Plane!!! That Is What Sucks The Most.
i Won't Act Like A Child , But A Part Of Me Just Wishes She Could Live 4ever, I Guess Me And Jojo Dancer Are Silly Like That!!! I Will Honor Her Memory By Dedicating My Life To Being As Cool And As Caring, As She Was, To The Third Power!!!
peace To All Ya'll And Happy New Year, I'm In San Francisco Airport Waiting 4 A Connecting Flight With Be Right Now!!!, Ether Call My House Phone At 10am Tomorrow Bro!!!

I understand your pain -- my granny is now 91 years old, and I know she won't be around forever, but there's that little kid part of you that just wants it to be so.
Even if you didn't have a chance to see her in this plane one more time, she died knowing that you loved her, and that's what mattered. And keep the faith that it's only a temporary parting -- you'll see her again when it's your turn to cross to the other side. And just think of all the great stories you'll have to tell her then. Of course, if she's been jamming with Lady Day or chillin with Ghandi in the meantime, her stories might even be better.
Cry all you need to. There's no heroism in pretending like it doesn't suck, or that you won't miss her. But I got the sneaking suspicion that whenever you need her, she'll still be around.

Yes, my condolences too, G. I lost my grandma in 2005 and it still stings to this day. She was the closest person to me in my life. Saying goodbye is tough. Writing the poems on this site (and having people reading them and giving positive feedback) helped LOADS. She will always be in your heart and your memories of her will hopefully be fond ones. I feel all of your pain, dawg.
