Hey guys, I have a question. Several years back, there was a site (I believe it was this one) that had several unreleased songs for download.....for free. One song contained a sample of Sweet Home Alabama. Does anyone know the name of the song. Someone stole my CD collection sometime ago, but I can't get this song out of my head. Any help would be appreciated.

First off...that song was never released and at one point may have been downloadable somewhere...but not here.

Second...it was called "If She Loves Me"

Third...it wasn't a sample of Sweet Home Alabama...it was actually a re-created guitar part that is very similar to sweet home alabama...

Good luck finding it again...that was a rare gem that never existed.

Well, if it never existed, my CD player must have been possessed or something!
And, if I remember corrected (hell, it's probably been at least 5 or 6 years ago), it was actually put online by Be himself (could be wrong). This song, along with Savannah-ville and a few others were available.

I know what you mean. That's familiar. I mean, I'm aware of the song's existence, but I felt it was available somehow.

klyph, maybe you were lucky enough to get an early view of a song concept from someone. Either way, from what I remember reading somewhere, there was a concept of a song like you mentioned, but there was a licensing issue (authors do not have to grant licensing of samples, derivative products, etc), so this song was never released.

I think Savannah-ville is on a CD-EP/CD-Single. Check the discography at PMDawn.net. It might be one of the Norwegian Wood EPs/Singles. I pretty sure I picked it up on eBay.

PM Dawn.net back in '05 had a player on the website and the songs included: Bug'n Out, Anything 4 U, Show Me, Still Runnin', If she loves me and Tru Believer (which almost made it on the Spiderman soundtrack.)

Yep, it sure was. As someone else stated, I think the site was PM Dawn.Net. However, before they had the player on the site that just allowed you to play the songs, they were available for actual download on the site. So, even though it was never "released" on CD, if PM Dawn.Net was an official PM Dawn site, it was released, along with Savannahville and several others. These songs were posted before the Spiderman song, as I remember not being able to download that one, only listen.

She Loves Me may be rare, and may not have been legally released due to its "sample" or interpolation, but it definitely exists. I just wish I still had it.

It was downloadable on pmdawn.net BEFORE it became an official site...Be asked me to take them all down.
