Hi everyone, Adrian here...
I'm not sure how to categorize myself but I guess you could call me a "long-time listener, first-time caller" of sorts...
See, back in '95 I saw this funky video by a group I didn't catch the name of... All I remembered was the track had a killer rhythm to it, I could barely remember the song title ..Downtown something. Anyways I just happened to glance at a copy of the single's chart that week, at a record store and there it was: "Downtown Venus" by P.M. Dawn. I got Jesus Wept the next day and I'm so glad I did. My music world would be missing a BIG piece!
Down here in New Zealand you mention PM Dawn and someone might know "Set Adrift" but that's kinda it, which totally sucks because Dawn's music is so much more than that one hit! So I educate, as best I can, to those who aren't as fortunate in the listening ways. They may not bite & go buy the record but I've never heard a bad word about any track, ever - because quite frankly, it's f**king impossible not to like PM Dawn's musical bliss!
There is a slight, sad part to my tale however, I was one of those unfortunate cases who pre-ordered "f**ked" and got nada - too late. I was also stupid enough to not buy a plane ticket and see the boys in action in Sydney. But hey, enough of my bitching - Be, I hope you get better soon man and shout-out to Doc G for keeping the Dawn's cause afloat! :rock:
