I love my tv but i always find i get hooked on shows that were really old or made it thru maybe one or two seasons.

i was thinking about it and there were a few old shows i doubt will ever make it to dvd but i really enjoyed. Cheesy they might be, but can't help that.

Higher Ground...it was an old (apparently Canadian) tv show with Hayden Christensen & Joe lando

Touching evil...it was on USA and had Jeffery Donovan way before burn notice

The Invisible Man.... was on Sci-Fi wth Vincent Ventresca. what a great show, i loved it.

The Crow, Stairway to Heaven....with Marc Dacascos (before he started doing Iron Chef with his accent again)

i could go on with tons that are more popular but you get the idea.

just wondering if anyone else had any favorites that was really hard to find or didn't make it on the air long.

yeah but sometimes watching a show you see the all time is relaxing. I know i watch Golden Girls at least once a week.

I watch Silk Stalkings all the time on dvd, back when USA put out the best shows!

I actually watched 15! Worst soap opera ever, and yes, I remember Ryan Reynolds.

Square Pegs had so many people doing coke on the set, they cancelled it.

I bought those from Best Buy a while ago. The last season is kind of weird without Sgt. Kinchloe, but the replacement guy is okay.

I LOVE Schultz! He makes the show. Almost everyone has died that did the show except for Robert Clary and Richard Dawson. It's unrealistic, but very funny.

And one of my favourite facts about this show is that both Klink AND Schultz were played by Jewish guys... :) And they were OK with playing Nazi's because they played them as bungling idiots!

ElizabethX

Didn't Richard Dawson die?

dreamrib

Yes, the very same one! His breakout role was Corp. Newkirk on Hogan's Heroes.

And NO, he's not dead!

I <3 Golden Girls. I also used to LOVE Silk Stalkings! I didn't even know they had that on DVD.

One of my favs I wish they would release is "The Days and Night of Molly Dodd"

Practically all of the other characters on the show have passed. Ivan Dixon (Kinchloe) and Patricia Crane (Frualine Hilda) died in 2008 and 2007, respectively. Leon Askin (General Burkhalter) and Larry Hovis (Carter) died in 2003. Warner Klemperer died in 2000. John Banner (Schultz) and Bob Crane were among the first two to die from the cast in 1973 and 1978, respectively.

Rumor had it that Bob Crane was making private sex films with various women. He was murder in a hotel room and the murderer was never caught.

i thought he commited suicide. i mixed him up with Ray Combs. I love richard dawson on FF and he was a trip on Match Game.

yeah Silk Stalkings was the bomb. when it first came out on Dvd i had to order it internationally and got a copy in english that was from japan.

This might stretch the memories... but does anyone remember a TV show where the guy used to drive a car that was transparent except for blue light - like a wireframe blue light car and it drove VERY fast. Anyone?

Which started out as Degrassi Junior High, which I watched religiously.

living in canada now i found Degrassi has a cult following. I started watching the original and fell in love with it. Spike's hair and Stephanie's run for prez with Viola is priceless! oh and can't forget Wheels....

Old, barely known shows, hmmm...

Voyagers (historical time-travel "fantasy" show - one season only)
Misfits of Science (starred a very young Courtney Cox - for one season only)

And who forgot about these?:

Mama's Family (Vicki Lawrence's show about a cranky Mama that loved her family, but rarely showed it - six seasons)
Greatest American Hero (the teacher that gets a "super suit" without the manual - three seasons)
Gimmie a Break (starring Nell Carter - six seasons)
Life Goes On (with the Down's Syndrome character "Corky" - four seasons)
Airwolf (that helicopter show akin to Night Rider - three seasons)
Amazing Stories ("Twilight Zone" type show produced by Steven Spielberg - two seasons)

dreamrib
03-19-2011, 08:33 PM
you picked some good ones. I used to watch Mama's family all the time, vicki lawrence at her best. i think it shows on like Deju-vu or something now

Gimmie a break, the kids on that made that show, i mean nell was good but still.

you guys remember Amen and 227

Is it "free" or "real"?
