FB : smash together all the spheres of your personal,family and professional life and see if people can get in contentious spats before ever actually meeting in person and for bonus points read news honed to elicit as much dread or scorn as possible

Twitter : get as many likes and retweets by writing the sharpest, most sarcastic and extreme version of your political sentiment or your attack on the person you want vilified or cancelled

its pretty liberating to not be on them on the regular at very least...

I head onto FB for saying happy B'day to folks and checking medical forums only in case of serious stuff happening and I dont go on Twitter unless I've clicked a link embedded in a news story

on the real...i go on facebook to primarily post on the family page....and to check up with how my friends are doing....i dont really have any interest towards outside drama at all....its my primary way of keeping tabs on all of you since this page has flatlined a smidge....

on the other hand I have family members who obsessively scroll the feed and hear much of what they hear about the world exclusively via what their "friends" share and even do lots of their online shopping via facebook marketplace cause they don't have to do the immense effort of closing the FB app and loading Ebay/Etsy/Amazon or god forbid... DOING A WEBSEARCH !
