:cuss: MICROSOFT!! :cuss:

I am recovering from a rather nasty OS crash, and it is all MICROSOFT'S fault! I blame every little bit of it on them! Especially when they tell me to download a Service Pack that is 'supposedly' going to correct problems with my system (problems which i have never noticed in a year of owning it) and so i spend, no, WASTE 3 hours of my time downloading it and installing it...only to be given a follow-up update saying..."Um...better not download this and install it, and if you have already, then you should Uninstall it"...at this point i am starting to lose my patience, but ok...like a sucker i do as they say. All is fine and dandy two days afterward until.....

[size=24]CRASH!!!!!!!!!

My computer is now an expensive paper weight. I call for support from HP and they tell me that i never should have installed the Service pack in the first place, and that i am totally screwed...and that i need to ship my PC tower to them so that they can reconfigure my hard drive or some shit like that...i am like, oh hell no! I dont think so!! I take things into my own hands, and thankfully i am able to do what they call a "Non-destructive System Recovery" which should only be done as a last resort ...so far so good...but i am still very pissed off at Microsoft! I hate them! :cuss:

Thanks for letting me blow off some steam :thumup:

You can do that for a LOT cheaper FrEk...especially if you get your own ram and monitor.

Yeah D,

Those friggin' Microsoft patches make me very nervous. I never put them on my machine at home unless I absolutely have to. They do some crazy things sometimes. I feel your pain.

i r an engineer and i think macs suck :thumup:

I'd buy a powerbook with OS 10 if it wasn't so high.

speaking of OS 10 Coz have you heard about OS 10 running on the PC(i386) platform? Apple is testing it now so I think their up to something.

If they release it I'm gonna triple boot XP Pro, OS X, and Redhat 8.0 on all my PC's :mrgreen:

Well, since OS 10 is unix based there has been plenty of speculation that it SHOULD run on a pc. BTW, the wife got me an ibook (700mhz G3) for my birthday. It came pre loaded with OS 10.1.5 and 9.2 and it fukkin ROX!!! :rock: OS 10 is the shizznit yo, and WAY FUKKIN MORE STABLE than XP!

I don't recomend PCs to anybody anymore who isn't technically inclined...I'm fukkin way tired of running tech support...heheheh.

If you wanna learn the ins and outs of the technical side of computers, by all means, get a PC. They're MUCH cheaper, have WAY more software available, and are MUCH more expandable and upgradable.

If you just wanna computer that's gonna work...all the time...everytime...get a mac!

Well...since De's machine is throwing a tantrum..HERE I come to save the day..had to set mine up so we could get online..hehe.

I built mine from ground up so although her's is a technically better machine..it's an HP machine :poke: it's still a good system though just doesn't like to cooperate sometimes.

The thing about macs is that they are price controlled...Apple makes everybody sell them for the same price. The only way to beat that is to buy the bare box from apple, and then get your componentry yourself. Get your own ram, harddrives & monitor and you save a good 2 grand...especially on that flatscreen. The shit is DOPE, but unless you plan to do graphics extensively you probably wont need it.

Yo, I gets mad props all over the fukkin place...what I really need is a good bookin agent! :rofl:
